Arizona tax law (ARS 43-1090.01) allows taxpayers a tax credit of up to $400 per calendar year, if they contribute to extracurricular activities in public schools. This is an actual credit against income tax imposed upon the individual. Contributions that are eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state and not even to the school district. This money can only be used by the school to which it is contributed and only for extracurricular activities. In the law, “extracurricular activity” means any optional, noncredit, educational or recreational activity, which supplements the educational program of the school, whether offered before, during, or after regular school hours. Such things as field trips, clubs (Robotics Club, Geography Club, Drama Club, etc), interscholastic athletics, etc., ALL qualify as extracurricular activities.
To participate in the tax credit program simply donate an amount up to $400 (per couple). Write a check to Heritage Academy, and a receipt will be issued for credit when you file your State Income Taxes. Any one who files state taxes is eligible to participate in this program.
CALLING ALL PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS, AUNTS, UNCLES, AND NEIGHBORS. All Arizona taxpayers qualify for this tax credit. Thank you for contributing to the quality programs at Heritage Academy.
Drop your donation at the school office or send it to: Heritage Academy at 32 S. Center, Mesa, AZ 85210 and note on the memo line which campus (or student or program) it is for.
